Introduction To Cave Diving
Exploring beyond the cavern zone, divers begin the fascinating practice of cave diving. Still at the introductory stage, this class will take the new overhead diver and introduce them to proper line techniques, equipment configuration, team diving concepts and emergency procedures for the cave enrionment.
Pre Requisites
18 years old
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
PADI Enriched Air Diver (recommended)
PADI Sidemount Diver (if using sidemount gear)
Price
$1000 / diver which includes student manuals, all instruction (including PADI Cavern Diver), 4 days of cave diving and certification.
You are responsible for travel expenses, any dive site or park admissions, gas fills & any equipment needs.
Equipment Needed
Personal Gear: Mask, fins, boots, logbook, knife or diver tool on upper body.
Overhead Gear: Primary Light (not lantern grip), 2 backup lights, primary penetration reel (300′ – 400′), backup reel (~140′)
Diving System: Sidemount configuration, doubles or single tank w/ dual outlet valve, BCD with low pressure inflator, primary regulator, secondary regulator with 7′ hose, SPG, depth gauge or dive computer, compass, non-quick release weight system and weights, adequate exposure protection, dive computer or RDP w/ timing device.
Introductory cave sudents are required to have their own equipment to ensure familiarity with it.
